Standard Bank appoints Revolution for ICC World Twenty20 Role

Standard Bank, the leading African banking group, has appointed Revolution Sports Marketing Group to manage its sponsorship of the ICC World Twenty20. Revolution’s role will include media relations, rights consultancy, on-site activation and hospitality management. 

Dave Tod, Director, Marketing & Communications Standard Bank London commented, “The bank has previously worked with Revolution on cricket related projects, and its experience in the sport makes them ideally placed to work alongside Standard Bank to activate the rights which this prestigious sponsorship delivers.”

Rod Kohler, PR Director at Revolution said, “Having collaborated with Standard Bank in 2008, we’re delighted to now be working closely with the London and Johannesburg teams on this major international sponsorship. Revolution’s PR and marketing work in cricket now encompasses all the major ICC tournaments plus The Ashes, and the agency has an in-depth knowledge base within the sport.”

Additionally, Revolution has been appointed by Standard Bank to provide consultancy and media relations for the Standard Bank Cup – two ‘home and away’ rugby union matches being played between England and Argentina. 

Standard Bank is a passionate supporter of sport and has long term relationships with international and domestic limited overs cricket, South African professional soccer, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) which includes the African Cup of Nations as well as the Argentine national football team and the Standard Bank Cup, an annual international between Argentina and an IRB affiliated touring side.
