Volkswagen, the leading German car manufacturer, has begun an exciting new relationship with Blenheim, and will act as Official Vehicle sponsor at the BBC-televised FEI Blenheim Petplan European Eventing Championships (8-11 September 2005).
Negotiated through Revolution, Volkswagen has provided a generous sponsorship package and will supply 14 Touareg 4 x 4s for officials to drive off-road and is sponsor of two cross-country fences.
As part of the sponsorship programme the Touaregs will also be seen housing the dressage judges, driving officials around the cross-country course and ferrying the top riders to press conferences.
“We are thrilled to welcome such a prestigious company as Volkswagen to Blenheim in our special European Championships year,” said Event Director Mike Etherington-Smith. “The Touaregs will be crucial for enabling officials to move around the event site and their smart presence will only serve to enhance the weekend.”
The Volkswagen sponsorship follows the announcement earlier this year by Puffa, the leading country clothing specialists, becoming Official Clothing Supplier at the European Championships, also negotiated through Revolution.
